Scope
The protocol concerns editorial terminology and literature indexing. It does not authorise biological taxonomic acts. Species identifications require suitable evidence and qualified judgement. “Eusocial” must not be used as a synonym for “found in a group”.
Evidence record
For each contested term, record the claim, source, applicable population or species, observation method and limitations. Retain alternative interpretations where the literature does not resolve the question.
Proposed decision process
A reviewer would check the cited source and document the reason for a classification. Matters beyond editorial competence should be referred to a specialist. The classification “requires further information” is an acceptable outcome and does not require a subsidiary classification.
