Frequently asked questions
A few useful
clarifications.
About the association, the science, participation and the meaning of an exceptionally formal reference number.
What is AESRD?
The Association for Eusocial Shrimp Research and Development is a proposed interdisciplinary association in development. This website does not establish legal status, accreditation or charitable registration.
What are eusocial shrimp?
Some sponge-dwelling snapping shrimp in the genus Synalpheus exhibit reproductive division of labour, overlapping generations and cooperative care or protection of the colony’s young. Most shrimp are not described as eusocial. Our research library links to the primary literature.
Why does eusociality matter?
It raises questions about how reproduction, cooperation and conflict are organised in animal societies. Marine shrimp provide a comparative setting distinct from the familiar social insects.
Does AESRD study artificial intelligence?
Collective intelligence, distributed algorithms and optimisation are proposed areas of computational investigation. A resemblance between a model and a colony is not evidence that shrimp implement a particular algorithm.
How can I participate?
Read the proposed programmes, publications and illustrative network exercise. Expressions of interest and live scientific contribution projects are not yet open.
Does an expression of interest make me a member?
No. It records interest for future consideration. Membership criteria, appointments, fees and benefits have not been established.
How do I submit a complaint?
Complaint submissions are temporarily unavailable. The complaints page explains the proposed procedure; this website currently accepts no complaint records and promises no response deadline.
Are AESRD articles peer reviewed?
The first-edition articles are editorial or working drafts. They explain published science and proposed methods; they are not presented as externally peer-reviewed papers.
How do I request a correction?
Online correction enquiries are temporarily unavailable. Proposed correction handling is described in the corrections policy; a verified contact route is still being prepared.
How do I contact AESRD?
Online enquiries are temporarily unavailable. No staffed email channel or physical office is asserted. Updates to contact arrangements will be published on the contact page.
Are the committees operating?
No. The bodies and their terms of reference are proposed. Appointments are pending, and committee pages are an invitation to scrutinise the intended structure.
Where are my form details stored?
This public information edition has no submission forms or database binding. It does not accept or store form details. Secure intake and an approved data-handling policy must be in place before collection is enabled.
