Public service status

Online complaints, membership expressions of interest, enquiries and participation submissions are temporarily closed. This public website has no collection forms, submission database or administrative access. Procedures describing intake or record handling are proposals for a future service.

1 / Intake and acknowledgement

A complaint may concern scientific classification, research methods, institutional procedures, public communications, records or another relevant matter. The submission form requires a subject and sufficient detail to identify the issue. Contact details are optional.

In a future configured intake service, a reference would be issued only after confirmed storage. Intake is currently closed; no complaint records or references are created by this public edition.

2 / Initial classification

A future intake officer would check scope, completeness, duplication and immediate privacy concerns. A request for further information may be appropriate. Selecting “classification concern” does not itself alter the classification of the organism in question.

3 / Impartial review

A reviewer with a conflict should recuse themselves. Scientific claims should be checked against identified evidence and, where needed, relevant expertise. Procedural concerns should be assessed against the procedure actually in force at the relevant time.

Internal states record receipt, review, requests for information, closure or withdrawal. Status changes must leave an audit entry. No particular finding, investigation or response deadline is guaranteed.

4 / Outcome and reconsideration

A future response should explain the issue considered, the evidence, the decision, any corrective action and the route for procedural reconsideration. Anonymous submissions can be considered, but a personal response may be impossible.

Private submissions should not be published. Any aggregate reporting must avoid identifying people through small categories or detailed narratives. The proposed review office itself remains subject to review.
